Hi! We are Parrotias, an international personal protective equipment company that provides customers with different types of PPE products that are distinguished by their functionality in various concepts. We are looking for a textile designer intern to help in the design and development of our products. Our ideal candidate should possess a stronghold on basic principles and practices of textile product designing, be up for collaborating with a team yet able to work on their own and be creative and adaptable with a meticulous eye for detail.
Your tasks:
Working on colourway options, repeats, print placements, layouts, and artworks for fabric developments, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Researching fabrication ideas
Print/fabric research and analysis
Organizing and categorizing fabrics and prints
Showroom and show preparations
Liaising with other team members involved in the studio process
Assisting with general studio admin day-to-day
Working with the Design & Development team to meet deadlines
Essential skills:
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Some understanding of fabric characteristics is desired but not essential
Proven ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
Proactive and able to take initiative
Excellent eye for details and print design
Desired skills:
Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Effective communication skills include speaking, active listening, and observing.
Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
More information:
Duration: The internship should ideally last between 3 and 6 months.
Hours: You must commit to working 20 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day.
You will be required to fulfil daily tasks that can take from 2 to 4 hours.
Team: Your team will consist of 10-12 interns and a manager.
Please note that this is an unpaid internship. Upon completion of the internship, we will provide you with a reference letter and a certificate. Since this is a remote internship, you will have a flexible and independent schedule with great growth opportunities.
