Injury prevention is an effort comprising risk assessment, hazard analysis, and inspection of the environment (e.g., home, sports facilities, or workplaces) to prevent or reduce the severity of physical injuries before they occur. A workplace injury prevention program will encourage employees to report any hazardous situations and also give them the knowledge to respond to an incident if one occurs. Such a program will boost employee safety and reduce workers' compensation claims.
